The highest qualification for nurseries level 1.

What is a Rights Respecting School Award?

The UNICEF UK Rights Respecting Schools Award (RRSA) is based on the principles of equality, dignity, respect, non-discrimination and participation.

The RRSA seeks to put the UN convention on the rights of the child at the heart of our nurseries ethos and culture to improve wellbeing and develop every child’s talents and abilities to their full potential.

A Rights Respecting School is a community where children’s rights are learned, taught, practised, respected, protected and promoted.

Young children and the nursery community learn about children’s rights by putting them into practice every day. A Rights Respecting nursery models rights and respects in all its relationships, whether between adults and pupils, between pupils or between adults.

Our class charter has been developed to support the language and attitudes of mutual respect for the rights of the child. The Snowdrop House class charter is based on 5 of the 45 articles that best fit our settings, aims and ethos of our nurseries, these are embedded in our daily routines of the nursery.
